Your ultimate guide to the Hampton Roads car scene !

757 Car Meets didn't start as a business idea or even as a hobby project really. It started because life got hard and I just needed somewhere to go.

I was piecing my personal life back together and wanted something simple: a reason to get out of the house, drive my car, and be around people without too much pressure. I liked cars, but I was also just a mom in her base model German SUV who didn't know where she'd fit in the local car scene.

Most of what I found online was either the late-night pop-up meets that I didn't always feel comfortable attending alone, or the traditional classic car groups that weren't really my thing. So, I started digging for organizers, businesses, recurring meets, shows, and cruises. Places I could plan for and comfortably just show up.

At first, I was only keeping track for me and my son. Then I realized how much easier it was to participate when I didn't have to know the right people, follow the right accounts, hunt through Instagram, or find out about an event after it already happened.  I started sharing what I found and that personal list eventually became 757 Car Meets.

Now we're doing well, we go to car events as often as we can and we fell in love with car photography together (he can outdo me on my best days!). He teaches me about car modifications at meets while I teach him about maintenance and repairs at home. 

I've also gotten to watch the local scene shift from impromptu pop-ups to more structured events, more consistent organizers, and more collaboration between the people who keep the scene running. 

We have recently moved to Florida to start a new chapter of our own. I originally thought it would be the natural end of 757 Car Meets but by then it had become something bigger than just myself. So now I'm working on putting the right people and systems in place to keep it going. 

This all started because I needed somewhere to go. Now I hope it will continue to give others somewhere to go too.
